Egg Donation, according to Greek law is completely anonymous. The clinic may provide only such minimal information as necessary to protect the identity of both donor and recipient.
Potential egg donors must meet a strict guideline . Donors must undergo careful screening including a complete physical, and genetic screening to reduce the possibly of transmitting inheritable diseases, testing for sexually transmitted diseases including AIDS, and drug screening. The following is a guideline of tests and requirements we follow at our clinic:
- age: from 18 to 30
- Medical history of the donor and her family to ensure that no hereditary problems are present
- Cystic fibrosis
- Factor V Leiden
- factor V H1299 (R2)
- Prothrombin G20210A
- MTHFR C677T
- MTHFR A1298C
- PAI-1 4G / 5G
- Test negative for diseases like Hepatitis B and C, AIDS, Chlamydia, Syphilis etc
- Must not use drugs
- Healthy reproductive system
- Live in the Athens area
